    Project Objective:
To collaborate with the National Center on Health Statistics on inserting sleep-related questions on the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) Survey, and on future surveys, in order to assess the degree of progress made toward the Healthy People 2010 objectives for obstructive sleep apnea as well as in terms of the educational activities of the NCSDR.

    Project Rationale:
In order to support the Healthy People 2010 objectives related to obstructive sleep apnea in the Respiratory Diseases chapter, and as a means of monitoring progress towards the NCSDR educational goals, the project team is working with NCHS to add sleep-related questions to the NHIS survey. It is hoped that this information, along with future updates to the supplement, will establish trend data.
