Consumer Primer Graphic Recommendations from the Sixth Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC VI) have been used in developing this reproducible consumer primer. This sheet summarizes information of interest to consumers such as: health problems that are caused by high blood pressure; what blood pressure levels are considered optimal, normal, high-normal, and high; how often you should have blood pressure rechecked; and lifestyle changes that help prevent high blood pressure.
